Annual Report for Awatere Parish Nurse , Jan - Feb 2024.

I have begun my work as the Parish nurse enjoying the full support of the community and am very grateful for this. 

Mostly I have spent time getting to know the elderly of the area,in particular those that are living alone and the most vulnerable. 

I have been privileged to support a family, with the end of their palliative journey, and hope to continue to be a support to those grieving in the future. 

I have resumed the Foot clinic for the year , with the help of wonderful volunteers. I see this as a fantastic opportunity for communication and companionship. 

I plan to continue to support the palliative patients I have been referred by Hospice and try to make life easier for them and their families in the coming months. 

I would like to acknowledge Rachael Westenera for the wonderful kindness and support she has shown me, and the practical handover period I received. 

Thank you also to the ACJV team for their backing and encouragement in taking on this new role.
