2025 ACJV update # 10
Hi everyone,
I had a great time with my grandkids in the snow last weekend. We ski'd Lyford on Monday and had a great time. This was only my second experience of South Island snow. I have to say it's a lot more fun falling into soft snow than it is hitting the ice on Ruapehu and wondering how far you will slide & which rock has your name on it!
ACJV Disco August 22, Epiphany
Our annual Disco is happening next Friday, August 22 (6 pm to 7:30 pm). These events are always great fun for our kids and families. As usual there will be lots of fun, games and food. If you haven't met our new childrens and families staff member, please come along and say hi to Raylene.
Ward Service time:
We will be returning to an 8 am service at St. Peter's, Ward on the first Sunday of every month. This will be a communion service. Kids are welcome at the 8 am service at Ward, however supervision must be provided by parents or grandparents.
Upcoming Services:
The Lord has been calling me to spend more time enjoying him. As I have obeyed this call, the Psalms have become more and more important to me. Tomorrow I will preach my last sermon on Psalms for a while. I'm praying that I can communicate something of the joy and spiritual vitality that God has been giving me through the Psalms.
I still want to speak on science and faith. It's something I've spent a lot of time thinking about and talking to people about. I'm also planning to teach a short series on Exodus. This series will look at the momentous events of Exodus 1-20. We will meet the true and living God who judges, saves, triumphs, provides and teaches. There will be opportunities to go deeper into this topic in small groups. (We will use a pathway bible study). Please let me know if you want to join a small group, and what times suit you best to meet.
God Bless,
John
